The Grand Canyon
The grandeur of the Grand Canyon cannot be adequately represented in symbols of speech, nor by speech itself. Exposed by the constant erosion by the Colorado River and its tributaries over the last 5 million years, the Grand Canyon is bigger than the US state of Rhode Island. For thousands of years, the area has been inhabited by Native Americans, who built settlements within the canyon and its caves. The Hopi Tribe believe that upon death, the Canyon is a gateway on the journey to the afterlife.
