This waterfall is one of the reasons why Cherrapunji entices nature lovers from all over the country and beyond. Dain-Thlen Waterfall is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the region, and thus, an important hub for tourists in Cherrapunji. There is a folktale associated with the waterfall that claims that a giant evil snake named Thlen lived here, which was killed by some brave men, post which the waterfall got its name. It is believed that some signs of the snake’s struggle are still present here.
