An Indian farmer stacks stalks of freshly harvested jute at Bortir Bill, a vast wetland surrounded by farmlands, in the 24 North Parganas district of West Bengal approx 50km from the main City of Kolkata. Jute is one of the most important cash crops & important natural fibers after cotton in terms of cultivation and usage. Around 85% of the world's jute is produced in the Ganges Delta & mainly in the eastern and north eastern part of India.
