There is an area in Kumortuli in Kolkata that is known for the traditional potters' quarters in North Kolkata in West Bengal. It is renowned for its sculpting process. It is not only famous for idol-making but was home to several renowned people during the Bengal Renaissance. I visited this place after getting to know about its very famous sculpture-making process. I saw an old man making the idol of Lord Ganesha and was impressed with the detailing of this sculpture. Not only this but roaming around the place made me so curious that I was shocked that I saw sculptures with very fine detailing and very realistic.
